Veteran Health Resources

If you’re a veteran in Pennsylvania searching for free fitness programs, mental health support, or wellness coaching — you’re not alone, and you’re in the right place. This guide covers what’s available to you through Boots to Health Foundation and how to get started at zero cost.
The Challenge Veterans Face After Service
The transition from military to civilian life is one of the hardest things a veteran faces. The structure is gone. The unit is gone. The purpose — the thing that made waking up at 0500 feel meaningful — is suddenly missing. Physical health often declines. Mental health struggles multiply. And most programs that claim to help veterans either require referrals, charge fees, or deliver watered-down support that doesn’t match the intensity of military life.
Veterans in Central Pennsylvania — Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg, Carlisle, Camp Hill, Hershey, and surrounding communities — face all of these challenges. And the gap between what veterans need and what’s actually available is enormous.
What Boots to Health Foundation Offers — For Free
Boots to Health Foundation was founded by Marine Corps veteran Logan Spiewak to fill that gap. We deliver four core programs — all completely free to every veteran we serve:
1. Free Fitness Training
Group training meets every Monday and Wednesday at 6:00 AM in Mechanicsburg, PA — open to all veterans, first responders, and law enforcement. No registration, no fee, no excuses. Just show up. For veterans who can’t make the commute, we offer remote fitness programming tailored to their schedule and physical condition. Our coaches include Marine Corps veterans with CSCS certifications who understand service-related injuries and design programs built for longevity.
2. Nutrition Coaching
Fitness without nutrition is incomplete. Our nutrition coaching program pairs veterans with coaches who understand the physical demands of service and the realities of veteran life — shift work, family stress, limited budgets, and the bad habits that come with years of MREs and chow hall food. We build sustainable, realistic nutrition plans. Free of charge.
3. Spiritual Counseling
The mental and spiritual wounds of service don’t show up on an X-ray. Boots to Health provides spiritual counseling for veterans working through the moral weight of their service, grief, identity challenges, and purpose questions that come after the uniform comes off. This is not therapy — it’s a space for veterans to be honest about the hard stuff without judgment.
4. Life Coaching
Transitioning out of the military means rebuilding a career, a routine, a sense of direction. Our life coaching program helps veterans set goals, develop civilian-life skills, and build the accountability structures they were used to in service — without the rank structure to enforce it. One-on-one, free, and results-focused.
Who Qualifies for Free Veteran Health Programs in Pennsylvania?
The requirements are simple: you served. That’s it. Boots to Health Foundation serves veterans of all branches — Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force, and National Guard. We do not require a VA referral, a disability rating, or proof of financial need. Rolling enrollment means you can start any time of year.
We also serve first responders and law enforcement officers at our group training sessions — because the physical and psychological toll of service extends beyond the military uniform.
The Impact So Far: Real Numbers from Central Pennsylvania
Since launching in 2023, Boots to Health Foundation has delivered over $324,000 in total veteran wellness value to more than 120 veterans across Central Pennsylvania. That includes $202,975 in direct program services — fitness, nutrition, and coaching — plus $21,750 in in-kind contributions from partner organizations.
Growth has been consistent: 15 veterans served in 2023, 30 in 2024, 30 in 2025, and already 45 veterans enrolled so far in 2026. We’re on track to serve more veterans this year than in any previous year — driven by partnerships with organizations like Deloitte and remote program expansion that reaches veterans in Florida, Philadelphia, and beyond.
